Republican Iowa governor nominee Zach Lahn, who carries President Donald Trump's endorsement and support from Turning Point Action, has been residing in a multimillion-dollar mansion in Kansas, according to a Daily Beast investigation.

Despite campaigning before Iowa voters as a farmer, Lahn's $2 million Kansas property spans a large plot complete with a private lake and indoor pool. The estate's amenities were described as "a place on Earth that was closest to heaven." The revelation cuts against the grassroots persona central to his bid in a state where personal ties to local communities carry significant political weight, particularly in a Republican primary field where authenticity and Iowa roots are often litmus tests for voters.

Lahn's wife, Annie Lahn, is the former daughter-in-law of billionaire Republican donor Charles Koch, whose Wichita-based Koch Industries is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States.

The couple purchased the Kansas property in 2024 and subsequently transferred it to an LLC, a move the Daily Beast suggested was likely intended to conceal ownership.

"Records reviewed by The Daily Beast indicate that he has never claimed any property in Iowa as his primary residence," the outlet reported.

Lahn refinanced his great-grandmother's Iowa farm in 2021. However, he and his wife waived the Iowa Homestead Tax Credit, which the Daily Beast characterized as "a sign that they do not consider the Iowa property to be their primary home."

According to the Daily Mail, flight records indicate that Lahn regularly travels to campaign events using his personal aircraft.
