Hoyer VMS Group and Kongsberg Maritime Expand Authorised Service Cooperation

Hoyer VMS Group and Kongsberg Maritime are strengthening their existing cooperation through a multi-year agreement. Hoyer VMS Group’s expanded authorised scope covers defined products and services within Propulsion and Handling across agreed market segments and territories.

The companies said the agreement is intended to create further opportunities for cooperation in Propulsion and Handling service assignments, particularly where local support, specialist technical capability, or additional capacity is required. The arrangement is designed to complement Kongsberg Maritime’s own service organization and does not change Kongsberg Maritime’s position as OEM, technical authority, and primary customer interface.

Within the agreed scope, activities may include component replacement, overhauls, and scheduled maintenance. For operators, that means service work can be allocated through an authorised framework rather than handled on an ad hoc basis, while still keeping responsibility and technical standards anchored with the original equipment manufacturer.

“The two companies are a really good match, and we are incredibly pleased with the cooperation agreement we have entered into with Kongsberg Maritime. The agreement formalises the role Hoyer VMS Group will perform within the agreed service scope. We have a partnership based on a high degree of trust, and I am confident that the agreement will be of great benefit to all parties,” said Kristian Kaasing Larsen, CCO Project Sales/Aftermarket, Hoyer VMS Group.

“For Kongsberg Maritime, the priority is to give customers reliable access to qualified support while maintaining the technical standards they expect from the OEM. Hoyer VMS Group adds local service capability and maritime expertise for selected assignments within the agreed scope, helping us respond flexibly where additional capacity is required,” said Anders Troels Skjoldborg, VP Partnerships – Global Customer Support at Kongsberg Maritime.

The agreement also gives the companies flexible access to service capacity. For example, they may draw on each other’s capabilities on assignments during periods of peak demand or where local execution support is required. Kongsberg Maritime may engage Hoyer VMS Group for specific service activities within the agreed scope, subject to relevant approvals and customer requirements.

Under the agreement, Hoyer VMS Group is an authorised service partner for Kongsberg Maritime for defined products and services within Propulsion and Handling, and within agreed market segments and territories. As part of the arrangement, Hoyer VMS Group may also sell selected original Kongsberg Maritime spare parts within the agreed scope, market segments, and territories.

The framework covers cooperation in several markets, including selected activities in China, the USA, and Brazil, subject to the authorised scope and applicable approvals. In Brazil, the two companies together employ around 200 staff, and Hoyer VMS Group has recently strengthened its local service organization, underscoring the operational footprint behind the agreement.
