DXN (ASX:DXN) drew attention from HotCopper followers after announcing it had been awarded a contract worth approximately $1.2 million by the Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company (SISCC).
The contract covers the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of a cable landing station supporting the Adamasia Cable System-1 (ACS-1) submarine cable project. The project forms part of the ACS-1 submarine cable program, a government-financed initiative aimed at strengthening security and resilience across the Pacific.
DXN managing director Shalini Lagrutta said the award represents a strategically important infrastructure project. “The award reinforces DXN’s recognised capability in delivering modular cable landing station infrastructure and critical telecommunications facilities throughout Australia and the Pacific,” she said.
She added: “At its core, this project carries significant strategic weight. The program is primarily financed by the Australian government and integrates with the Pacific Connect plan, further elevating the program’s importance.”
DXN was up 28.9% to 16.8¢ at the time of going to press.
CSL (ASX:CSL) was also higher after revealing it will undertake clinical trial work to confirm the efficacy and safety of immunoglobulin manufactured using its next-generation Horizon 2 process.
Horizon 2 is a patented, yield-enhancing technology that enables significantly greater production of immunoglobulin from the same base amount of plasma.
CSL expects clinical activities to begin in mid-2027, using material manufactured at its Broadmeadows facility. The work will be carried out in parallel with construction of the previously announced expansion of CSL’s Kankakee, Illinois manufacturing facility, highlighting that the program is advancing alongside existing production and capacity plans rather than as a standalone step.
CSL rose 6.92% to $127.79 this morning.
In the resources sector, Caspin Resources (ASX:CPN) surged after reporting high-grade tin from the Kelpie resource extension program at its Bygoo project in New South Wales. The latest reverse circulation drilling results came from the newly discovered Errol’s Zone, located outside the Kelpie resource, which is estimated at 3.94 million tonnes at 0.50% tin for 19,300 tonnes of contained tin.
Managing director Greg Miles said the results continue to support the potential for resource growth ahead of an updated estimate expected in the September quarter.
“Yet another stunning result for the 2026 Bygoo highlight reel. BRC061 included the highest individual metre grades ever drilled at the Kelpie Deposit, coming on the back of Caspin’s best-ever drill intersection in BRC05,” Miles said.
“Given that tin is approximately four times the value of copper, these are fantastic results which demonstrate that the Kelpie Deposit, as currently defined, has significant growth potential,” he said. “We are still in the middle of a great discovery story, a time when most value is created.”
CPN rose 19.1% to 12.5¢ on the news.
Broader market performance was also positive, with the ASX 200 gaining 1.19% to 9,053.90.
