Adisyn (ASX:AI1)
Adisyn shares surged after the company announced a major technical milestone in its graphene semiconductor technology program. The company successfully scaled its low-temperature graphene deposition process to a full 200mm copper semiconductor wafer, with the deposition conducted below 300°C.
Graphene has attracted significant attention in advanced semiconductor research due to its exceptional electrical conductivity, thermal dissipation properties, and potential to address performance limitations faced by conventional silicon as device geometries continue to shrink. However, integrating graphene into existing semiconductor production lines has proven challenging, particularly because many deposition techniques require temperatures that damage standard circuit components — making a sub-300°C process a notable technical differentiator.
The achievement marks a significant advance from Adisyn's earlier laboratory-scale work, moving the technology into an industry-standard wafer format widely used across global semiconductor manufacturing.
Managing Director Arye Kohavi stated that this represents the first publicly disclosed demonstration of low-temperature graphene deposition across an entire 200mm wafer.
"This is a huge step forward for Adisyn and a strong demonstration of the speed at which our graphene semiconductor technology is advancing. Scaling a new materials technology from laboratory samples to a full 200mm semiconductor wafer presents significant technical challenges," Mr. Kohavi said.
AI1 was up 17.9% to 16.5¢ at the time of publication.
SciDev (ASX:SDV)
SciDev attracted attention after securing its first contracts in the data centre market. The scope of work encompasses design, consulting, and embedded engineering services across two of Australia's largest hyperscale data centre operators and developers.
The contracts mark SciDev's entry into a sector where water management has become a focal point. Data centres rely heavily on water for cooling, and as AI-driven computing demand accelerates infrastructure buildouts globally, operators face increasing scrutiny over water consumption and sustainability targets.
The contracts are expected to generate approximately $0.5 million in revenue during the first half of FY27, with potential for the scope and duration of services to expand.
CEO Todd Scott described securing the first revenue-generating contracts in the data centre market as an important early step in validating SciDev's strategy to build a differentiated position in this emerging sector.
"Data centres are becoming increasingly important users of water and are facing growing pressure to improve water efficiency and reduce reliance on potable supply. SciDev's capability is well aligned to that challenge, combining specialist water treatment engineering, modular technology, and practical project delivery experience," Mr. Scott said.
SDV jumped 18.5% to 16.0¢ in morning trade.
Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX:NEU)
Neuren Pharmaceuticals drew significant interest on HotCopper after reporting Q2 2026 net sales of DAYBUE (trofinetide) at US$125 million, representing a 30% increase over Q2 2025 and a 24% increase over Q1 2026.
DAYBUE is the first FDA-approved treatment for Rett syndrome, a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily affects females. The drug is commercialised in North America by Acadia Pharmaceuticals under a licensing agreement with Neuren, which receives royalty payments on net sales.
CEO Jon Pilcher confirmed this was the highest quarterly sales figure since the drug's launch. Acadia raised its full-year 2026 guidance for DAYBUE net sales to a range of US$480–510 million, up from the previous range of US$460–490 million.
"We are pleased to see an exceptional quarter for DAYBUE, with very strong sales volume growth reflecting the early success of STIX in the US, as well as achievement of the positive CHMP opinion — both important steps toward bringing trofinetide to more patients with Rett syndrome globally. Subject to approval being confirmed, we now look forward to Acadia's anticipated European launch later this year," Mr. Pilcher said.
The positive CHMP opinion referenced by Mr. Pilcher relates to the European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use, whose recommendation typically precedes formal European Commission approval decisions.
NEU was up 15.7% to $21.53 at the time of publication.
Broader Market
The S&P/ASX 200 was positive in morning trade, gaining 15.60 points, or 0.17%, to 9,161.40 and setting a new 100-day high. Over the last five days, the index has risen 1.36% and currently sits 0.56% below its 52-week high.
ABS Time Use Survey
Separately, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released key findings on how people allocate time across paid work, unpaid work, and other activities in 2024.
More than a third of females (36%) and 30% of males reported always or often feeling rushed or pressed for time. People who worked from home spent an additional hour on unpaid work during their workday. Just under one quarter (23%) of respondents supervised a child while performing another activity.
The survey found that females spent more time on unpaid work, averaging four hours and 53 minutes per day, compared with three hours and 52 minutes for males. Most females (90%) and males (81%) participated in unpaid work on their diary day, with females spending an average of one hour more per day on these activities.
