Grayscale has filed its fourth amendment to a Form S-3 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as it continues working to convert the Grayscale Zcash Trust into an exchange-traded product tracking ZEC.
The latest filing proposes listing the trust on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH. If approved, the structure would move the existing over-the-counter product to an exchange-listed vehicle tied to Zcash. The regulatory process is still incomplete, and Grayscale must still satisfy registration and exchange-listing requirements before the proposed Zcash ETF can begin trading. That keeps the filing squarely in the category of a procedural step rather than a launch decision, which matters because investors often watch these amendments for signs of how far an issuer has progressed through the SEC review process.
Grayscale Advances Zcash ETF Plan
According to the filing, Grayscale plans to convert the existing Grayscale Zcash Trust into an exchange-traded product that tracks ZEC. The company identified NYSE Arca as the proposed listing venue and ZCSH as the planned ticker. Under the proposed structure, investors would trade trust shares on the exchange rather than hold ZEC directly through the product.
The filing does not complete the listing process and does not guarantee approval from the SEC. Grayscale also has not disclosed a management fee or a temporary fee waiver. The document adds more detail about share creation and redemption procedures, along with a possible contribution involving an affiliate of Digital Currency Group. Regulatory review and exchange procedures must still be completed before any listing can move ahead, leaving the filing as one more required part of the process rather than a final step.
Filing Revises Redemption Language
Grayscale said creations and redemptions would be handled primarily through cash orders. The filing retains an in-kind creation option, under which an authorized participant can contribute ZEC instead of cash.
The redemption language has changed, however. The trust would not permit in-kind redemptions under the proposed structure. That wording narrows redemption mechanics while keeping some flexibility for creations.
The sponsor also disclosed discussions with DCG International Investments Ltd., a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Digital Currency Group. Under the possible arrangement, the affiliate could acquire shares through an authorized participant in exchange for 200,000 ZEC.
The companies have not finalized the arrangement, and the filing describes the discussions as non-binding.
ZEC Price Pushes Above $550
ZEC traded above $550 as the market reacted to Grayscale’s continued ETF effort. At the time of writing, Zcash was trading at $554.91, up 8.83% over the previous 24 hours. The move pushed the token through the $520 and $550 resistance zones and left buyers in control of the short-term structure.
Analyst Javon said $755.49 is the next major resistance level for ZEC after its recovery from previous cycle lows. He said the asset has already climbed more than 20 times, from roughly $31.50 to above $662, during the broader rebound. The move also broke a multi-year descending resistance trend that had capped several rallies since 2018.
Since then, ZEC has moved between roughly $200 and $700, but repeated rebounds have kept it above its former multi-year base. Javon now sees a further 37% advance toward $755.49. A sustained break above that level, he said, would open the next higher range, with $1,400 or above as the following target.
In a separate ZEC price prediction, analyst Ardi said Zcash could extend its recovery if buyers maintained control after the earlier breakout. ZEC has since moved higher and is now trading above $551, placing the market above the $530 level he had discussed earlier.
Ardi identified $600 as the next upside target if bullish momentum continues. He also warned that ZEC has previously formed “Type 2 distribution” patterns, making continued buying pressure important for extending the rally.
