Google has officially confirmed a Made by Google event for August 12, 2026, in New York City. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is among the devices expected to be unveiled, and leaks have already revealed much of what is known ahead of the announcement.

This article collects everything that has been confirmed or credibly reported so far, including the phone’s release timing, specifications, pricing and availability.

When will the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL be released?

Google has set August 12, 2026, as the date for its Made by Google event in New York City. The keynote begins at 6 PM ET (3 PM PT, 11 PM WAT) and is expected to be the stage for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, alongside the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel Watch 5 and other devices.

Based on pricing information from Dealabs, the phone is expected to go on sale on August 20, 2026, eight days after the announcement. That matches the timing Google used between launch and shipping for the Pixel 10 series.

Pre-orders are expected to open the same day as the event, August 12. Google is also running a pre-order promotion: users who sign up for Google marketing emails before August 7 are expected to receive a promo code on August 11, which can be redeemed through August 27.

Google Pixel 11 Pro XL detailed specs

All of the specifications below come from leaks and credible reporting. None of them is official until Google announces the phone on August 12.

The main leak sources include a now-deleted accidental Google Amazon listing, a Dealabs pricing leak, OnLeaks and Android Headlines CAD renders, Evan Blass marketing images and FCC filings.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to feature a 6.8-inch Super Actua OLED LTPO display with a 2992 x 1344 resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness is said to reach up to 3,600 nits, or about 2,450 nits at full-screen HDR brightness. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and reportedly uses Samsung’s newer M16 OLED panel material.

The phone is expected to run on Google’s Tensor G6 chip, which is built on TSMC’s 2nm process. If confirmed, this would place the Pixel 11 Pro XL among the first consumer devices on TSMC’s newest manufacturing node, which succeeds the 3nm process currently used in leading mobile chips such as Apple’s A18 Pro. It will reportedly pair with a Titan M3 security chip and a MediaTek M90 modem. The modem change is confirmed in FCC filings and is said to bring satellite connectivity, dual-active 5G SIM support and speeds of up to 12Gbps. The move to MediaTek would continue Google’s evolving modem strategy after earlier Tensor generations relied on Samsung Exynos modems, and satellite connectivity would bring the Pixel in line with features already available on Apple’s iPhone 14 and later and Samsung’s Galaxy S24 lineup.

One important detail for buyers concerns memory configuration. The 256GB model is reportedly paired with 12GB of RAM, while the 512GB and 1TB versions are expected to include 16GB. By comparison, every Pixel 10 Pro XL shipped with 16GB of RAM regardless of storage. Google has said prices are rising this year because of a severe RAM shortage that has pushed the price of LPDDR5X memory to roughly six times last year’s level. That shortage is affecting the broader smartphone and PC industries, not Google alone.

Three storage options are expected:

All versions are expected to use UFS 4.x storage, and there is no microSD card slot. The 128GB option has been removed from the entire Pixel 11 lineup, a move that aligns with a wider industry trend of raising minimum storage on premium phones.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to share the same rear camera system as the smaller Pixel 11 Pro:

• 50MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture
• 48MP ultrawide camera with macro focus
• 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and up to 120x Pro Zoom
• Optical-quality zoom at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x

There is conflicting information about the front camera. Android Headlines says it will be 42MP, matching the Pixel 10 Pro’s selfie camera. Google’s own accidental Amazon listing and Android Central both point to 13MP. The 13MP figure is treated as more likely here because it comes from Google’s own listing, but this remains unresolved until August 12.

Battery capacity is reported at 5,115mAh typical and 5,000mAh rated minimum. Both figures refer to the same battery cell but use different measurement methods. That would mark a slight decrease from the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200mAh battery, likely in support of a slimmer design.

Charging is said to be 45W wired and Qi2 wireless. Qi2 is the newer Magnetic Power Profile standard from the Wireless Power Consortium, offering MagSafe-style magnetic alignment for compatible Android devices. No charger is included in the box. The 45W rating is carried over from the Pixel 10 Pro XL rather than being a new upgrade.

Leaked renders suggest a design that is very close to the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The dimensions are listed as 162.7 x 76.5 x 8.5mm, with a weight of 226g. The camera bar is now reportedly all-black across every colour option, removing the two-tone finish used in previous years.

A new feature called “Pixel Glow,” now officially referred to by Google as HiLight, appears to be an RGB LED light strip built into the camera bar. It is an exclusive feature for the Pro and Pro XL models. Reported colours include blue, cyan, green, orange, pink, purple, turquoise, white and yellow, and the light can be assigned to specific contacts or notification types. Google has already teased the feature in a promotional video.

The phone is expected to keep IP68 water resistance and use an in-display fingerprint scanner alongside face unlock.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to launch with Android 17, and Google has confirmed seven years of OS updates, security patches and Pixel Drops. That commitment matches the seven-year update promise Google introduced with the Pixel 8 series and is competitive with Samsung’s equivalent pledge on the Galaxy S24 line, placing both ahead of Apple’s typical iOS support window.

Based on FCC filings and leak reports, the connectivity list is expected to include:

• 5G sub-6GHz and mmWave
• Satellite connectivity through the MediaTek M90 modem
• Wi-Fi 6E, noting that the Pixel 10 Pro XL supported Wi-Fi 7, so this would be a downgrade if confirmed. Wi-Fi 7 added multi-link operation and higher throughput over Wi-Fi 6E, so stepping back would reduce peak wireless performance for users on compatible routers.
• Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, UWB, Thread and dual-band GNSS

How much will the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL cost?

Prices are expected to rise compared with the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Google has confirmed that publicly.

Shakil Barkat, Google’s vice president of Devices and Services, told 9to5Google that the cost of LPDDR5X RAM has increased roughly sixfold since 2025 and that the company could no longer absorb the higher expense.

Each storage tier is expected to cost $100 more than the equivalent Pixel 10 Pro XL model, or about £80 / €100.

Leaked prices for the US, UK and EU markets are based on the accidental Amazon listing in the US and a Dealabs leak reported by 9to5Google and Notebookcheck. They are credible but not yet official.

For South Africa, no approved source has yet disclosed pricing or availability. Google typically sells Pixel devices there through third-party importers and retailers rather than a local Google Store, so South African pricing will need to be confirmed after the August 12 announcement.

What colours does the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL come in?

Four colour options are expected for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, shared with the Pixel 11 Pro:

• Dune: a warm pink-copper tone with a champagne frame
• Light Fog: white with a pale blue tint
• Midnight Haze: black
• Pine: green with a polished gold frame

There is one storage limitation: the 1TB model will only be available in Midnight Haze. Dune, Light Fog and Pine are expected to top out at 512GB.
