The past week brought one of the sharpest reversals in crypto market sentiment in months, with activity broadening across spot, derivatives and options as institutional flows returned. According to Gate Ventures’ latest weekly report, BTC and ETH rose 23.6% and 31.4%, respectively, lifting total crypto market capitalization by 22.1%. The Fear & Greed Index moved from 27 to 73 within days, while Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $1.9 billion in net inflows and Ethereum ETFs attracted roughly $697 million, signaling a clear return of institutional appetite. Gate captured a substantial share of the resulting activity. CoinGlass data showed the exchange ranked second globally in both BTC and ETH spot trading and third in ETH futures. Its options desk also posted its strongest weekly growth on record, with total options volume increasing 182.56% week over week and the number of active traders rising 136.43%, while new user trading volume climbed 724.26%.
Momentum extended beyond the trading desk and into Gate’s broader product stack, which spans crypto alongside stocks, metals, forex and indices. DefiLlama data showed Gate recorded $194.09 million in net inflows over a single 24-hour period, placing it among the top three global centralized exchanges. In derivatives, Gate’s open interest in ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) reached $6.63 million, ranking first among CEXs on CoinGlass. In metals, gold perpetual futures (XAUT) open interest on Gate exceeded $147 million, ranking second across the network, while 24-hour XAUT spot volume reached $11.96 million, placing it in the top three industry-wide. Gate said its Unified Account infrastructure, which supports cross-asset allocation across crypto, stocks, metals, forex and indices, is helping translate macro volatility into sustained activity on the platform.
Strategy and Regulation: Embedded Finance and Stablecoin Infrastructure
Two senior Gate executives used the week to outline longer-term strategic priorities. Gate Europe CEO Dr. Giovanni Cunti said the next stage of digital asset adoption will likely come not from users moving to crypto-native platforms, but from digital asset infrastructure becoming embedded in financial services people already use, including payments, commerce and cross-border transfers. He pointed to MiCA’s relatively consistent regulatory framework as a structural advantage for European operators and said connecting digital assets with payments is central to Gate Europe’s development direction.
Gate US COO Laura offered a complementary view on stablecoins. She said broader adoption will depend on whether the surrounding infrastructure — including liquidity, regulatory clarity, interoperability and integration with existing settlement networks — can meet traditional financial standards. Gate US currently holds 36 state Money Transmitter Licenses and operates across 47 U.S. jurisdictions. The company said its Gate US Card service is one practical bridge between stablecoin functionality and everyday payments.
New Listings and Product Launches
On the listings and product side, Gate launched a broad set of services for DGrid AI (DGAI), including perpetual futures with up to 20x leverage, margin trading, loan services, Simple Earn, bots trading, copy trading, Convert and Auto-Invest. Gate additionally expanded its Event Contracts offering, which allows directional price bets without leverage or margin management, by adding DOGE, HYPE and BNB. The lineup now includes seven assets: BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, HYPE and BNB, available across four time windows — 5min, 15min, 1h and 4h.

The copy trading business continued to recover.
