Key Takeaways
- •EVO Power USA and Ranial Systems are combining EVO's battery energy storage systems with Ranial's AI-enabled operations software to serve commercial and industrial customers nationwide.
- •The combined hardware-and-software system lets businesses store on-site generation such as solar power and use it when most valuable, helping manage demand charges based on peak power draw.
- •The partnership's announced reference deployment is at Sunrise Toyota's two locations in Oakdale and Medford, New York, where contractor Sprocket Power deployed EVO batteries with Ranial's software alongside existing solar installations and EV chargers.
- •EVO reported that the solar-plus-storage system has saved the Sunrise Toyota dealership an average of 55% on its energy costs.
- •More than 125 EVO deployments have been completed globally, with many in operation for more than five years.

Energy storage company EVO Power USA and Ranial Systems, an energy management systems provider, are combining their services to serve commercial and industrial customers nationwide. The partnership pairs EVO's integrated battery energy storage systems with Ranial's AI-enabled operations software. Together, storage hardware and intelligent management software allow businesses to keep electricity generated on site, such as from solar arrays, and use it when it is most valuable. That distinction matters for commercial customers, whose electricity bills often include demand charges tied to their highest power draw during a billing period, not only the total energy they consume.
"At EVO Power USA, we believe battery energy storage systems should serve as an intelligent energy platform that optimizes renewable energy generation and consumption, actively participates in grid programs, reduces stress on the electric grid and ultimately lowers customers' energy costs while creating new revenue opportunities," said Yanu Choi, CEO, EVO Power USA. "That is why we see Ranial as a strategic partner."
The combined offering is already in use at a client site in New York State, where EVO hardware is operating as part of an integrated commercial energy ecosystem developed and managed by Sprocket Power and powered by Ranial's AI software. Auto dealer Sunrise Toyota, whose two locations in Oakdale and Medford, New York, have solar installations and added EV chargers, brought in contractor Sprocket Power to deploy EVO battery systems paired with Ranial's software so the sites can store energy and dispatch it when it is needed most. The configuration mirrors a broader trend across the commercial sector, where solar, EV charging, and battery storage are increasingly installed together: solar output does not always align with a building's demand, added chargers raise a site's electrical load, and storage paired with real-time controls gives operators a way to manage both.
EVO reported that the solar-plus-storage system has saved the car dealership an average of 55% on its energy costs.
"We are excited by this project at Sunrise Toyota and the outcomes created for both customer and grid. Sprocket Power has a single focus on the implementation and operation of on-site microgrid systems, which are highly valuable but require significant expertise to execute. The integration of the EVO battery system with Ranial's controls is essential to achieving these outcomes," said Maria Fields, CEO and co-founder of Sprocket Power.
More than 125 EVO deployments have been completed globally, many of which have been in operation for more than five years. With the combined service now offered nationwide, the New York dealership sites serve as the partnership's announced reference deployment, and additional commercial and industrial projects would add evidence of how the integrated hardware-and-software model performs across a wider range of sites.
