Ether Slides About 13% Over 30 Days as Bitcoin Loses Less Than 5%

Ether has slid around 13% over the past 30 days, a decline almost three times steeper than Bitcoin's 4.7% drop, with the token dipping below $2,300 on Oct. 24.

Ether changed hands at $2,342.08 late on October 24, down 12.96% over the 30-day window, according to CoinGecko data. The weakest price in the period came as a 24-hour low of $2,286.76. Bitcoin, by contrast, traded at $80,537, a decline of 4.71% over the same span. Ether opened the window near $2,684, while Bitcoin started close to $84,249.

ETH/BTC ratio slips to 0.0291 from 0.0319

On a seven-day basis, ether lost 3.33% while bitcoin fell 1.48%. The ETH/BTC ratio, the price of ether denominated in bitcoin, hovered near 0.0291, down from roughly 0.0319 at the start of the 30-day window. Because the ratio prices ether in bitcoin terms rather than dollars, its slide shows ether losing ground against bitcoin itself over the window, not only against the US dollar. Ether slipped about 0.7% on the day to its late-session price, and bitcoin eased about 0.1%.

Ether crested within the window near $2,754 on Oct. 2 and has shed about 15% since. The token now sits roughly 53% below its record high of $4,946.05 set in August 2025. Bitcoin trades about 36% under its own peak of $126,080, reached in October 2025. Ether's market capitalization stood near $286 billion late on October 24.

BlackRock's ETHA drives a $110.6 million exit on October 22

US spot ether exchange-traded funds hold ether directly, and their published daily totals net creations against redemptions across issuers, which is why the flow figures are widely followed as a gauge of demand through the US fund wrapper. On October 22 those funds posted net outflows of $110.6 million, according to Farside data. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accounted for $75.5 million of the total, while Fidelity's FETH took in $2.4 million. BlackRock's ETHB lost $17.2 million the same day. Grayscale's ETHE shed $9.6 million, and its Ethereum Staking Mini ETF lost $10.7 million.

The October 22 exit followed $14.9 million in net inflows on October 21, when Grayscale's staking mini fund attracted $28.1 million and FETH pulled in $13 million, offset in part by $29.3 million leaving ETHA.

Five consecutive sessions of outflows from Oct. 14 to Oct. 20 drained $388.9 million from the funds, and the seven sessions through Oct. 22 cost a cumulative $484.6 million. The heaviest day of that run was Oct. 14, when $129.5 million exited; Oct. 19 added another $103.3 million in outflows. The Oct. 23 tally showed net inflows of $4.4 million, though the ETHV fund's figure remained absent, leaving that day's total provisional until the issuer reports.

Worst month for ether ETFs since November 2025

According to Cryptopolitan, ether ETFs logged $1.08 billion in outflows in October through Oct. 21, the largest monthly outflow of 2026. The withdrawals erased roughly $832 million of September's inflows, leaving net year-to-date inflows at about $485 million. October stands as the funds' worst month since November 2025. Total net assets stood at $14.98 billion as of Oct. 20, equal to 5.01% of ether's market value. That share, roughly one-twentieth of ether's overall footprint, offers a baseline for sizing how much weight the daily flow prints carry. The remaining October tallies, including the missing ETHV print for Oct. 23, will complete the month's flow record and the year-to-date ledger the funds carry into November.

Bitcoin ETFs, by comparison, bled only about $67 million over the same October stretch and still held net inflows of roughly $809 million in 2026, per a separate Cryptopolitan report. A six-session outflow streak that began on September 29 sapped about $408 million, with ETHA alone losing $201.89 million on October 6. The flow gap runs in the same as the price gap: ether's 30-day decline is nearly three times bitcoin's, and its October fund ledger is deeper in the red.
