Tokyo Growth-listed Eole has begun buying Hyperliquid (HYPE), completing its first purchase of the altcoin on July 28 as part of a planned ¥100 million treasury allocation. According to the company’s official disclosure, Eole bought 1,078.25469311 HYPE for ¥10,084,663.8716, which implies an average execution price of ¥9,352.766 per token.
Management described the acquisition as an initial step toward its Neo Crypto Bank concept, a next-generation financial infrastructure project designed to connect wallets, payments, lending and decentralized finance services in a single on-chain platform. Eole said any further purchases will be made in multiple tranches through the end of August 2026, depending on market conditions and liquidity, with total exposure capped at ¥100 million including the initial buy. The company also said the holding is strategic rather than purely financial, tying it to competitiveness in on-chain finance and Web3 operations.
In its explanation of the asset, Eole said HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a decentralized venue for perpetual futures trading. The company said the token supports staking, governance participation and other protocol functions. Eole also said Hyperliquid has strong compatibility with autonomous trading systems, including autonomous strategies associated with an AI trading bot, because rapid on-chain execution may suit machine-initiated orders.
The purchase follows Eole’s July 16 notice that it changed the intended use of proceeds raised through its 14th and 15th warrants from buying Bitcoin to buying digital assets more broadly. The disclosure frames the token as infrastructure for a future in which AI agents execute transactions autonomously, rather than merely as a balance-sheet reserve. Eole’s Neo Crypto Bank plan is intended to connect user-facing touchpoints such as wallets and payments with lending and DeFi markets without conventional intermediaries.
Eole said the transaction is the first public HYPE acquisition by a domestic listed company in Japan, a claim that places the move alongside a broader corporate treasury experiment in digital assets beyond Bitcoin. The company said Hyperliquid operates a finance-specific layer-1 network designed to process several thousand transactions per second in under 100 milliseconds, offering centralized-exchange-like speed while preserving on-chain transparency. In Eole’s view, that architecture is compatible with agentic commerce, a model in which software agents make payments, execute contracts and manage value on behalf of users.
The company said it has been developing this theme since unveiling the Neo Crypto Bank concept last October, and its chief executive has previously described lending as an entry point for building a wider financial base, comparing the approach to banks starting with deposits. Eole also pointed to overseas examples in which institutional investors unable to hold on-chain assets directly have gained indirect exposure through a Nasdaq-listed digital-asset treasury company focused on HYPE.
Eole said it will continue to assess market conditions and liquidity before making additional purchases, and it left open the possibility of integrating HYPE with its own services in the future, though it did not provide a timetable or product details. The token’s role within Hyperliquid includes staking and governance, and the platform is often described as an appchain built for high-frequency derivatives rather than a general-purpose smart-contract network. For Eole, the stated goal is to build wallet and payments infrastructure for machine-driven economic activity, a category that may include an AI crypto wallet. The move could also serve as a test case for whether other Japanese public companies follow a similar path, particularly those seeking exposure to on-chain finance without launching their own protocols.
COINOTAG’s proprietary 42-indicator composite S/R scoring engine shows HYPE trading near its $54.0067 support, rated 76/100, driven by Bollinger Lower and Fibonacci 0.618 confluence. The nearest major resistance at $57.6090 scores 82/100, anchored by Fibonacci 0.500 and Ichimoku Senkou B. With RSI at 34.64, MACD bearish and the broader trend down, the structure favors rebounds being sold unless reclaimed. Funding is mildly positive at 0.0017% while open interest reaches $1.43 billion, indicating leverage remains available but not aggressively long. Fear and Greed at 29 adds caution. A daily close below $54.00 would weaken the near-term floor and expose $46.4832, while a recovery above $57.61 would challenge the bear market pressure.
