DIIs added 17.50 crore shares to their position in ICICI Bank between March 31 and June 30, bringing total holdings to 305 crore shares. Net buying amounted to Rs 22,646 crore — the largest on the list — while the stock price advanced 14.04% during the quarter.
HDFC Bank
HDFC Bank saw DII holdings increase by 21.94 crore shares, taking the total to 559 crore shares. Net purchasing reached Rs 16,987 crore, and the stock gained 9.08% over the period.
Reliance Industries
DIIs raised their stake in Reliance Industries by 8.76 crore shares, bringing total holdings to 283 crore shares. Net buying stood at Rs 11,796 crore, even though the stock declined 3.72% during the quarter. This made Reliance the only stock on the list where DII accumulation coincided with a price drawdown, even as three of the four largest positions by net value were in private-sector banks.
