Defence electronics manufacturer Data Patterns (India) Limited reported a decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 2026, even as the company posted double-digit revenue growth. Operating margins came under pressure during the quarter, weighing on the bottom line despite the top-line expansion.
The company's board also approved the acquisition of a composites manufacturing firm. Composites — lightweight, high-strength materials such as carbon fibre reinforced polymers — are increasingly used in aerospace and defence applications, including aircraft structural components, radomes, and missile parts. Data Patterns said the acquisition is intended to strengthen its in-house manufacturing capabilities and broaden its product offerings within the defence and aerospace supply chain.
The move comes as India continues to push for greater self-reliance in defence production under its "Make in India" initiative, with the government setting targets to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports.
