Curve Finance Goes Live on Stellar in First Native Deployment Outside the EVM Ecosystem
Key Takeaways
- •Curve Finance has launched natively on the Stellar mainnet, marking the decentralized exchange protocol's first deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem.
- •The audited StableSwap implementation enables low-slippage trading between stablecoins pegged to the same currency as well as other closely correlated assets.
- •Users can permissionlessly create pools, swap assets, and provide liquidity at stellar.curve.finance, and applications can integrate the pools as trading venues for collateral liquidations and position exits.
- •Curve founder Michael Egorov said demand for the protocol on Stellar is already coming from institutions, and that Stellar is closer to the familiar EVM world than many other chains.
- •Curve plans to bring FXSwap, designed for efficient trading between assets whose relative prices change such as stablecoins pegged to different currencies, to Stellar once its audit is complete.

Curve Finance has launched on the Stellar mainnet, marking the decentralized exchange protocol's first native deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem. The release brings the protocol's audited StableSwap implementation to Stellar's smart-contract environment, introducing stablecoin-focused trading to the network.
Users can now create pools permissionlessly, discover existing pools, swap assets, and provide liquidity through Curve's interface, which is available at stellar.curve.finance. The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) supported the deployment, which was announced during the Meridian 2026 conference.
Stellar is a payments-focused blockchain network long associated with asset issuance and cross-border value transfer, and Curve's StableSwap pools add dedicated stablecoin liquidity infrastructure to that foundation. The pairing is the substance of the launch: Curve's first operating ground outside the EVM world, and a native stablecoin swap layer for a network whose core activity is issuing and moving assets.
StableSwap Brings Low-Slippage Trading to Stellar
Curve Finance ranks among the leading DeFi protocols for stablecoin trading and has historically operated on EVM-compatible networks. Its StableSwap model is designed for low-slippage trading between stablecoins pegged to the same currency, and the model also covers other closely correlated assets. That focus fits the asset class: stablecoins pegged to the same currency are designed to track the same value, so how little slippage a swap incurs is the benchmark for execution. That audited implementation now operates on the Stellar network.
Michael Egorov, founder of Curve Finance, said the protocol began exploring a move beyond EVM chains in response to demand. "At Curve, we started exploring possibilities of launching beyond EVM chains if there is demand. Stellar looks like a good fit: it's closer to the familiar EVM world than many other chains," he said.
The Stellar Development Foundation announced the launch in a post on X:
Now live: @CurveFinance . "Having one of DeFi's most trusted liquidity protocols choose [Stellar] for its first native deployment outside EVM shows that the network is the home for practical financial applications." – @DenelleDixon #Meridian2026

Egorov added that demand for Curve on the network is already coming from institutions. "And at the same time, the demand for Curve is there, and it comes from institutions. Excited to see where this integration goes!" he said.
The use cases extend beyond standalone swaps. As liquidity develops in the new pools, other applications can integrate them directly, allowing the pools to serve as trading venues for collateral liquidations. They can also support exits from positions in lending and other financial applications. This gives asset issuers a way to develop trading venues for supported assets on the Stellar network, and pools can be created permissionlessly, without needing approval.
SDF Backs the Deployment as FXSwap Plans Emerge
Denelle Dixon, CEO and Executive Director of the Stellar Development Foundation, said Curve's arrival provides Stellar developers with proven infrastructure for building markets. "Stablecoins and tokenized assets only deliver real value when people can move between them efficiently, and Curve's arrival gives developers on the Stellar network's proven infrastructure to build those markets," Dixon said.
She added, "Having one of DeFi's most trusted liquidity protocols choose the Stellar network for its first native deployment outside EVM shows that the network is the home for practical financial applications."
Curve also plans to bring FXSwap to the Stellar network once its audit is complete. FXSwap is designed for efficient trading between assets whose relative prices change, with stablecoins pegged to different currencies among the primary examples. The design concentrates liquidity around market prices, providing dedicated infrastructure for onchain currency conversion. The audit is the stated gate for that rollout, making it the next concrete milestone for Curve's expansion on the network.
For now, the integration gives developers and asset issuers on Stellar new ways to build onchain markets while adding utility to stablecoins and tokenized assets. What to track from here follows directly from the deployment's own design: how liquidity forms in the new permissionless pools, and whether applications begin wiring them in for collateral liquidations and position exits. Users can access the deployment at stellar.curve.finance.
