cTrader Store launches subscriptions for trading products

cTrader Store is expanding beyond one-time purchases with the introduction of subscriptions for cBots, indicators and plugins. The new model allows traders to access premium products through smaller recurring payments, while sellers can generate recurring revenue through subscription renewals.

The update is designed to create a new framework for multi-platform plugins. Service-based plugins that require continuous updates can now produce ongoing income, and brokers also gain a way to distribute branded plugins to the global cTrader Store audience.

Flexible access to premium tools

Under the subscription model, traders can begin using a product with a lower upfront commitment instead of paying the full one-time price immediately. They keep continuous access and receive all updates for the duration of the subscription. Users can later move to a longer plan or switch to Unlimited access.

Depending on the product, sellers may offer weekly, monthly or longer-term plans. In some cases, a one-time purchase option may still be available. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, and access remains active until the end of the paid period. After that, no further charges are applied.

For sellers, subscriptions create a new source of income. They earn from each successful renewal for as long as traders continue using the product. The smaller periodic payment also lowers the entry barrier for customers who are not ready to pay the full price upfront.

For IBs, the lower entry point can make higher-value Store products easier to promote and may create more opportunities to attract new traders. Broker marketing teams can also highlight relevant subscription-based Store products in campaigns aimed at specific audiences. More accessible pricing and a broader product range may help brokers keep traders engaged by giving them easier access to useful trading tools.

A shift for multi-platform plugins

Some plugins depend on live data, AI processing or content that must be updated regularly. These products require ongoing infrastructure, maintenance and support, and a one-time payment does not always cover those costs. Subscriptions give creators recurring revenue to keep these services running and improving over time.

AI Assistant is one example. Traders can ask it about their balance, margin, open positions, trading history, prices and market news. It is part of a growing group of service-based multi-platform plugins that are becoming more popular with traders.

The launch also gives brokers the option to create their own branded plugins, either directly or together with Store sellers. Once listed in cTrader Store, these plugins gain visibility across cTrader’s global community of more than 11 million traders looking for new tools, which gives brokers greater brand exposure and a product-led way to attract new clients.

What comes next

cTrader Store said it will continue refining the subscription model. Traders will be able to discover, compare and manage subscription plans. Sellers will also be able to combine multiple products and services under a single subscription through paid seller spaces. In-app purchases are also planned, allowing traders to discover and buy plugins and cBots without leaving cTrader Mobile.

Aleksei Kozlov, General Manager of cTrader Store, said: “Subscriptions mark a meaningful shift for cTrader Store. They make premium products easier to access, create more growth opportunities for sellers and brokers and open a new commercial path for multi-platform plugins. What we’re building toward is a Store where every participant – traders, sellers, IBs and brokers – can find real value and succeed.”
