BlackRock's IBIT Records $405 Million Outflow, Largest Since June

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded its largest daily outflow since June on Monday, as US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) began November with continued withdrawals.

The funds collectively posted $398.6 million in net outflows, led by $405.3 million leaving IBIT, according to Farside Investors data. It marked the fund's biggest single-day withdrawal since June 26, when investors pulled $444.5 million from the trust. Daily flow figures for the products are compiled by market data trackers and are widely referenced as an indicator of investor activity in US-listed crypto funds.

Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) partially offset the wider withdrawals, attracting $6.7 million in inflows on Monday.

Monday's outflows followed an October in which US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $515 million in net outflows, as reported at the time. The funds have registered roughly $38 million in net outflows so far in 2026.

"I wouldn't interpret these outflows as a rejection of digital assets," Edwin Mata, CEO of tokenization company Brickken, said in commentary published Monday. "Investors reduce exposure when uncertainty rises, particularly after an event that raises questions about the security of market infrastructure."

The withdrawals came amid broader volatility across cryptocurrency markets following the $6.3 billion hack of Binance.

Bitcoin briefly fell below $76,400 on Monday, its lowest level since August, according to CoinGecko. The cryptocurrency traded at around $76,600 at the time of publication, down 3.7% over the past seven days.

US spot Ether (ETH) ETFs also recorded approximately $140 million in net outflows on Monday, according to SoSoValue data, extending their losing streak to six consecutive trading days. The Ether funds had posted a record $1.61 billion in monthly outflows in October.

Launched after the US Securities and Exchange Commission approved the first spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, IBIT has grown into the largest spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund by assets under management. Those approvals gave US investors regulated, exchange-listed exposure to Bitcoin for the first time, and IBIT's scale means its daily flows are closely watched as a reference point for the wider category.
