Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has launched “VIP to the Top,” a campaign marking its eighth anniversary (the exchange was founded in 2018) that grants qualified professional traders immediate access to VIP 7, the highest tier of the platform’s VIP program. The campaign runs from September 15 to October 31 under the anniversary theme “Built for Perfect Trades” and is designed to recognize traders on the basis of their existing activity rather than requiring them to progress through each VIP level.
At the center of the initiative is Ultimate VIP Perks, which provides eligible traders with a 30-day VIP 7 Experience Card. Current VIP users at other cryptocurrency exchanges can qualify by providing proof of at least 50 million USDT — the dollar-pegged stablecoin widely used across crypto trading pairs — in futures trading volume, or 30 million USDT in spot trading volume, over the previous 30 days, a trailing-volume window consistent with how VIP tiers are commonly calculated across centralized exchanges. Former Bitget customers are covered as well: traders who held VIP 4 status or above through futures trading volume between August 2025 and August 2026, but whose status lapsed before the campaign began, may return directly at the top tier.
The structure of the offer draws on feedback collected from more than 300 Bitget VIP users through surveys and interviews. According to the exchange, the research identified trading costs and rates as the decisive factors for high-frequency and professional traders — findings that directly shaped the campaign’s goal of lowering the barriers experienced traders face when switching platforms or returning to Bitget. The emphasis reflects the underlying economics: because tier pricing applies to every order, even marginal differences in fees and financing rates compound quickly at professional trading volumes.
“Experienced traders have already earned their stripes, and switching platforms shouldn’t mean starting from zero. In our conversations with VIP traders, they were clear that trading costs, liquidity, execution and capital efficiency matter the most,” said Bitget CEO Gracy Chen in a written statement. “VIP to the Top recognizes the level these traders already operate at and gives qualified participants a direct route to the trading conditions and service that come with our highest VIP tier,” she added.
Beyond Fee Discounts: VIP Program Scope
The benefits extend beyond trading fee discounts. For institutional clients and professional traders evaluating the platform, the VIP program combines competitive trading and borrowing rates with advanced API capabilities, Unified Trading Account (UTA) infrastructure that lets traders manage spot and derivatives activity from a single account, multi-asset opportunities, and dedicated VIP services. Participants who meet additional trading thresholds during the campaign period can extend their -day VIP experience.
Alongside Ultimate VIP Perks, “VIP to the Top” includes two further components: a VIP Upgrade program and the TradFi Challenge, the latter structured around missions spanning U.S. stock spot trading and TradFi futures — a nod to Bitget’s expansion beyond cryptocurrency markets at a time when trading venues increasingly compete across both crypto and traditional asset lines.
The initiative arrives as Bitget intensifies its focus on institutional, high-net-worth, and professional traders as part of the next phase of its UEX strategy. As the platform broadens its presence across both crypto and traditional markets, it is developing its VIP offering around the execution quality, capital efficiency, connectivity, and service requirements of traders operating at larger scale.
By effectively importing VIP credentials from competing exchanges, Bitget is making a direct bid for an experienced user base — one where retention may hinge less on tier progression than on whether the platform’s trading conditions justify the switch in the first place. With top-tier access expiring after 30 days unless extended through additional trading thresholds, and the campaign closing on October 31, the structure sets up a clear measure to watch: whether status portability alone can translate into sustained activity once the initial experience window ends.
