Bitget to Convert US-Listed Stocks Into rTokens With New Brokerage Transfer Service
Key Takeaways
- •Bitget's rToken Transfer service, set to launch on Oct. 13, allows users to move eligible US-listed stocks and ETFs from outside brokerages onto the platform, where they are converted into tokenized rTokens.
- •Transfers are executed via the Free of Payment method through an omnibus account at Alpaca, so no sale occurs and holders keep their market exposure, with coverage spanning more than 3,000 tokenized assets.
- •The Super Match system connects the platform and market makers to multiple liquidity sources to improve execution and price discovery, including support for trading outside regular stock market hours.
- •Both services are part of Bitget's Broker Interoperability project and Universal Exchange plan, with longer-term goals of wider use of tokenized equities as collateral and in capital management tools.
- •As of July 6, Bitget's rToken ecosystem held about $114 million in assets under management and had processed more than two million transactions.

Crypto exchange Bitget is expanding its real-world asset (RWA) business with a service that lets users move eligible US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from outside brokerages onto its platform, where the holdings are converted into tokenized assets known as rTokens. The company is simultaneously rolling out a matching system, called Super Match, that links its platform to multiple liquidity sources, including outside regular market hours.
Both initiatives are tied to Bitget's rToken ecosystem, which offers tokenized versions of traditional stocks and funds, and are aimed at improving liquidity for tokenized securities. Tokenization—the issuance of blockchain-based representations of traditional financial assets—has become an increasingly common bridge between conventional securities markets and digital-asset platforms.
How rToken Transfer Works
The new transfer service, known as rToken Transfer, allows users to move eligible stocks and ETFs held at outside brokerages into Bitget's RWA ecosystem without selling their existing holdings first. The service covers more than 3,000 tokenized assets, letting investors enter tokenized markets while retaining their positions.
Transfers are executed using a method called Free of Payment, or FOP, under which securities move between accounts without an accompanying payment. Because no sale takes place, holders keep their market exposure intact while the position moves custody. The shares are delivered to an omnibus account at Alpaca, a brokerage infrastructure provider, designated by Bitget. Omnibus accounts are a standard securities-custody structure in which a single account holds assets on behalf of multiple end customers. Once the shares arrive and are processed, Bitget's In-Kind Tokenization Network converts them into rTokens, which are then added to the user's Bitget spot account.
The service is part of a broader project called Broker Interoperability, which aims to connect traditional securities investing with digital asset infrastructure. Transferred assets can be used for spot trading and, where available, for margin trading, lending and borrowing, and earn products—broadening what holders can do with their positions once they arrive on the platform. Access depends on asset eligibility, local rules, and Bitget's terms, so the service's reach will vary by asset and jurisdiction.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the next phase of tokenization will be shaped by infrastructure that lets assets and liquidity move across markets.
"Providing access to tokenized equities was a key starting point," Chen said. "Now we're focused on connecting existing brokerage assets with deeper liquidity and more flexible ways to deploy capital," she added.
Super Match Targets Liquidity and Price Discovery
Chen said Broker Interoperability gives assets a way into the ecosystem, while Super Match is designed to improve how liquidity and price discovery work once they are there. The system links trading on the platform and market makers to several liquidity sources and is built to improve execution and price discovery as more people trade tokenized equities. It is also intended to support trading outside regular stock market hours—one of the clearest points of divergence between conventional equity venues, which operate during fixed session hours, and crypto platforms, which trade continuously.
The effort is central to Bitget's "Universal Exchange" plan, which seeks to bring traditional and digital assets together in one trading ecosystem. Chen said the longer-term goal is to make tokenized equities more useful for both institutional and retail users, including wider use as collateral and in capital management tools.
The push builds on Bitget's Reality RWA issuance platform. As of July 6, rToken assets under management stood at about $114 million, with more than two million transactions completed—a baseline for the ecosystem that the transfer and matching systems are intended to build on. Bitget has set Oct. 13 as the launch date for rToken Transfer.
