Bitget recorded $1.86 trillion in combined trading volume in the third quarter of 2026, with activity rising across crypto derivatives, spot markets, and traditional financial products such as CFDs and tokenized equities. The exchange's latest transparency report points to growing cross-asset trading activity, expanded liquidity, and new tools designed to connect digital assets with traditional finance.
According to the Q3 2026 Transparency Report, combined monthly trading volume increased by 21.2% between July and September. Crypto derivatives volume grew 31.5% to $409.19 billion, while spot trading volume rose 65.7%. CFD trading—contracts that give traders price exposure to an underlying asset without ownership of it—expanded 39.7% to $376.32 billion during the quarter, becoming Bitget's largest non-crypto trading category, a sign that the quarter's growth extended beyond crypto-only products.
Bitget Expands Cross-Asset Trading Through Unified Account
The growth in trading activity coincided with the launch of Bitget's Cross-Asset Unified Account (UTA), which brings more than 370 eligible assets—including over 100 tokenized US stocks—into a shared margin framework. The account supports collateral valuation ratios of up to 95%, allowing eligible tokenized equities to be used as collateral across different trading products and giving users greater flexibility in managing capital across asset classes. In practice, that means a tokenized share can back positions across products rather than sitting idle in a separate balance—exactly the kind of plumbing required as exchanges blur the line between digital and traditional assets. The launch formed part of the company's broader effort to build a unified trading environment spanning digital and traditional assets.
Bitget also extended its AI-powered GetAgent Playbook to tokenized US equities. Other product developments during the quarter included institutional pricing upgrades and the launch of Cash Plus, a stablecoin product offering yield.
“We're seeing more traders move between crypto, stocks and traditional assets, and that's why we are building a Universal Exchange (UEX),” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “Q3 showed strong growth, but it also reminded us that protecting our users must continue to remain our biggest priority as we expand.”
Independent Research Highlights Bitget's Liquidity
For active traders, liquidity is where strategy meets execution: depth near the market price and tight spreads determine how much of a move a large order gives up to slippage. Several third-party reports pointed to Bitget's liquidity performance across both crypto and tokenized equities. TokenInsight ranked the exchange first among nine platforms for combined BTC and ETH futures depth within 0.05% of market price, recording $41.6 million in liquidity, while CoinGecko identified Bitget among the leading exchanges for BTC and ETH spot liquidity.
In tokenized equities, CryptoRank reported that Bitget's Reality platform recorded up to 58% lower simulated slippage—a measure of how far an executed price deviates from the quoted price—on $50,000 orders compared with the next-lowest comparable venue. DeFiLlama reported a median bid-ask spread of 0.83 basis points and the deepest top-of-book liquidity across the five markets it evaluated.
Bitget Details Security Measures Following September Incident
The report also addressed the security incident disclosed on September 24. Bitget said it implemented containment and recovery measures, adding that user account balances remained unaffected. The exchange engaged Mandiant and SlowMist to support an independent investigation—bringing in outside security specialists is a step exchanges typically take to establish what happened beyond internal review. Any published findings from that investigation will be the detail to watch as the platform's post-incident response unfolds.
Bitget replenished its Protection Fund to more than $300 million by September 30, ahead of its original commitment. Additional measures included the introduction of a circuit breaker mechanism, an independent assessment by SlowMist, and an increased security budget. The company also reported that its Proof of Reserves ratio remained above 110%—published metrics that users can track against future disclosures.
