Bitget Expands Proof of Reserves Coverage to 19 Assets
Key Takeaways
- •Bitget increased the number of assets covered by its Proof of Reserves system from four to 19, including BTC, ETH, USDT and newer listings such as TAO, XAUT and ONDO.
- •Personal Proof of Assets verification now extends across the same 19 assets, using Merkle Tree technology so users can independently confirm their holdings appeared in reserve snapshots.
- •The exchange has published monthly PoR reports since December 2022, reaching 45 consecutive releases as of August 2026.
- •The latest report showed an aggregate reserve ratio of 122%, meaning reserves on hand exceed recorded user holdings above the 1:1 benchmark.
- •CEO Gracy Chen described the expansion as a natural evolution of Bitget's transparency framework, which operates alongside the platform's Protection Fund.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has upgraded its Proof of Reserves (PoR) system, expanding verification coverage from four cryptocurrencies to 19 major assets. The change substantially increases the share of user holdings covered by the exchange's reserve verification infrastructure and comes amid a broader industry push toward verifiable asset custody, a practice that became widespread across the exchange sector after the 2022 collapse of FTX.
The upgrade applies to both platform-level reserve disclosures and Bitget's personal Proof of Assets verification tool. Through the updated PoR page, users can review the reserve ratio and total of user assets for each supported asset, assess whether reserves are sufficient, and examine how holdings are distributed across different public blockchains. Assets now covered include BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, BNB, SOL, XRP, LTC, ADA, DOGE, LINK, NEAR and SUI, alongside newer or less conventional listings such as TAO, XAUT, ONDO, HYPE, PI and USDGO.
Verification Beyond Core Holdings
The rationale behind the move is straightforward: as exchanges broaden their asset offerings, reserve transparency mechanisms must keep pace. Because assets held on a centralized platform are custodial by nature, users otherwise rely on the operator's own assurances about solvency, and PoR reporting is intended to give them a way to check those claims against published data. Bitget says its aim is to shift verification from a safeguard limited to core cryptocurrencies into a standard layer across its ecosystem.
Personal verification has been extended across the same 19 assets. Using Merkle Tree technology, a cryptographic structure that makes it possible to verify an individual account's inclusion in a larger dataset without exposing other users' records, users can independently confirm whether their individual holdings were included in a given PoR snapshot, with detailed audit records, including Merkle hashes and snapshot data, available for deeper verification. For assets outside the scope of a particular audit, or where personal records have not yet been generated, the Proof of Assets interface displays notices to help users interpret results accurately.
Bitget has published PoR reports monthly since launching the practice in December 2022. As of August 2026, the platform had released 45 consecutive reports, with the latest showing an aggregate reserve ratio of 122%, above the 1:1 standard, meaning reserves on hand exceed the user holdings recorded on the platform. Users can also download snapshot data and validate records using publicly available methods, and the monthly cadence gives them a recurring checkpoint as the covered asset list evolves.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, framed the expansion as a natural evolution of the platform's transparency framework, noting that verification needs to grow alongside the diversity of assets users hold, from four to 19, so that more users gain direct visibility rather than relying on the exchange's assurances alone.
The PoR expansion sits alongside Bitget's Protection Fund and broader security infrastructure, which the company says are designed to make security increasingly measurable and verifiable as the UEX model brings a wider range of assets and markets into a single trading environment. The upgraded PoR page is available via Bitget's official website.
