Bitcoin rose about 1% to roughly $78,600 on Monday morning in Asia, marking its third consecutive day of gains as investors returned to risk assets following Friday’s sell-off in US technology shares.

ZEC led major tokens, climbing 3% to nearly $1,280. Ether and BNB each gained nearly 2%, with ether trading just above $2,300 and BNB at about $713. XRP and TRX rose about 1%, while SOL was little changed at approximately $95, according to CoinDesk data.

Bitcoin had fallen to about $77,600 late Sunday before buyers pushed it back above $78,500 within hours. The relatively calmer start to the week followed Binance’s disclosure of a $6.3 billion hack last week, described as the largest theft from a crypto exchange on record.

Stocks and Commodities Recover

Stock markets also began recovering after a sharp decline on Friday. The Nasdaq 100 fell 3.5%, its worst daily performance since June, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged 7%. On Monday, futures for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 rose at least 0.4%.

Equity benchmarks advanced in South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan. Chinese stocks also gained after a report said regulators would meet with banks and brokerages on Monday to discuss ways to support the market.

Brent crude fell 3% to about $110 a barrel after a report said President Donald Trump wanted to give diplomacy with Iran more time. Gold rose about 1% to roughly $3,910 an ounce, rebounding from its lowest close in more than a year.

Analyst Daan Crypto Trades said on X that a move above the bull market support band and the weekly 200MA/EMA does not always proceed smoothly at the outset. He said Bitcoin had remained around those levels for some time during the previous cycle before moving higher.

Bitcoin and Ether ETF Outflows

Investors withdrew $643 million from US spot Bitcoin ETFs on Friday, ending four consecutive trading days of inflows. Spot crypto ETFs are widely tracked as a gauge of institutional demand, making monthly flow totals a closely watched barometer. The outflows left October with $515 million in net withdrawals, marking the first negative month since June, according to SoSoValue.

The funds nevertheless retained about $361 million in net inflows for the year. BlackRock’s IBIT recorded the largest outflow on Friday at $234 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $201 million.

Ether ETFs recorded $156 million in outflows on Friday. Their total October outflows reached a record $1.61 billion, surpassing the previous high of $1.42 billion set in November 2025.

Wu Blockchain reported that Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded $203 million in net outflows during the trading week from October 26 to October 30, Eastern Time. Fidelity’s FBTC led the weekly outflows at $166 million. The report also said Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $432 million in net outflows during the same period.

The first ETF flow prints of November will indicate whether October’s outflow trend extends into the new month. Jeff Mei, chief operating officer at BTSE, said Federal Reserve commentary suggested that macroeconomic pressures would keep interest rates high. He said that could weigh on crypto liquidity over the next few months.

US midterm election polls are scheduled to close on Tuesday night, with results expected to begin arriving during Wednesday’s Asian trading hours.
