Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, August 19, 2026, Chainwire — Bitcoin.com, the global cryptocurrency media, wallet, and fintech platform, and Universal Digital Intl Limited (“Universal”), the ADGM-based issuer of the USDU stablecoin, said they have formed a strategic partnership to integrate USDU into the Bitcoin.com product suite and launch a joint education program focused on regulated stablecoins.
The deal adds another example of how stablecoin distribution is moving beyond exchange-only use and into consumer wallet products, while keeping the compliance framework visible to users. USDU is issued by Universal under the regulation of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) as a Fiat-Referenced Token. It is also the first and currently only registered Foreign Payment Token under the Central Bank of the UAE’s Payment Token Services Regulation. According to the announcement, each USDU is backed 1:1 by liquid USD reserves held with regulated UAE banks and is subject to monthly independent reserve attestations. The stablecoin’s smart contract has also been independently audited, and distribution is provided by Aquanow, a VARA-licensed virtual asset service provider.
Under the partnership:
Wallet integration: USDU, an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, will be added as a supported asset in the self-custodial Bitcoin.com Wallet on web and mobile, allowing users to hold, send, and receive USDU. Swap and buy/sell functionality will follow as third-party provider support becomes available. Availability is subject to jurisdictional restrictions.
Payments: Bitcoin.com will accept USDU as a means of payment for designated Bitcoin.com services and will work to enable USDU payments between users and merchants through its products, where permitted by applicable law.
Education: Bitcoin.com will publish educational materials about stablecoins and USDU across its channels, including in-wallet “Learn-to-Earn” content.
“Regulation has become the defining question for stablecoins. USDU’s registration with the UAE central bank and its monthly attested 1:1 reserves are exactly the kind of transparency users and merchants can verify for themselves. We’re excited to make it available in the Bitcoin.com Wallet,” said Corbin Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Bitcoin.com.
“This partnership reflects how the role of regulated stablecoins is broadening,” said Juha Viitala, Senior Executive Officer at Universal. “Making USDU available through the Bitcoin.com Wallet means institutional-grade standards are now accessible to millions of users who want to hold and transfer a stablecoin with verifiable backing.”
Bitcoin.com said it is a leading global cryptocurrency platform that includes the news.bitcoin.com publication, the self-custodial Bitcoin.com Wallet, and related products and services used by millions of individuals and merchants worldwide. The company’s media contact is media@bitcoin.com.
Universal Digital Intl Limited, or Universal, said it is established in ADGM and regulated by the FSRA to conduct the regulated activity of issuing a Fiat-Referenced Token to Professional Clients only. Universal is also a Registered Foreign Payment Token Issuer with the CBUAE under the PTSR and is the issuer of USDU, a fully USD-backed stablecoin and a Registered Foreign Payment Token by the CBUAE. Universal said USDU may be used as a means of payment for the purchase of Digital Assets and Digital Assets Derivatives in the UAE, but may not be used for general payment purposes in the mainland UAE, meaning UAE domestic payments.
The company said the communication is for information purposes and intended for Professional Clients only. It does not constitute an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to purchase or subscribe for, any securities or product.
