Binance Adds Tokenized Trump Media Stock as Margin Collateral

Binance has added its tokenized Trump Media & Technology Group security, DJTB, as an eligible margin collateral asset, expanding the exchange’s bStocks product into leveraged trading accounts. The change took effect on August 26 at 12:00 UTC for qualifying users.

DJTB can now be used as collateral in Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro. Binance also opened margin trading for the related bStocks pair. However, users cannot currently borrow DJTB itself.

The token functions only as collateral to support other eligible margin positions, which places it alongside other exchange products designed to give traders additional ways to use tokenized securities without changing the underlying ownership structure.

Access Limited To Higher-Tier Users

The feature is available only to VIP 3 and above customers in permitted jurisdictions. It is not offered in restricted regions, and U.S. persons are excluded. Binance recently lowered the VIP 3 asset threshold from $3 million to $1 million, though traders can also qualify through trading volume and BNB holdings.

DJTB provides economic exposure to Trump Media shares, which trade on Nasdaq under the ticker DJT. It does not confer direct ownership of the underlying stock, voting rights or a place on the company’s shareholder register. Binance describes bStocks as tokenized securities backed by corresponding instruments held by the issuer.

How Trump Media As Collateral Works

Eligible traders can use the value of their DJTB holdings when calculating available margin. Binance applies a collateral ratio to determine how much of that value counts toward borrowing capacity. The exchange can adjust the ratio and other risk parameters as market conditions change.

A decline in DJTB’s price can increase liquidation risk if an account’s margin level falls below maintenance requirements. Using the token as collateral therefore carries different risk than holding it in a standard spot account.

Spot Listing Arrives Alongside Margin Use

Binance separately opened DJTB/USDT spot trading at 12:00 UTC on August 26, along with spot algorithmic trading bots. Withdrawals were scheduled to open at 13:00 UTC.

The exchange also offered zero maker fees on DJTB/USDT until August 31, 2026 and enabled fee-free conversions through Binance Convert.

The move follows Binance’s launch of a DJTUSDT perpetual futures contract on August 25, which offers up to 20x leverage but does not provide ownership of DJTB or the underlying shares. Together, the spot, futures and margin products show how the exchange is packaging the same reference asset across different trading venues, while keeping the tokenized security itself limited to the terms set by the issuer and Binance’s jurisdiction rules.

The product is offered under documentation approved in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and is not registered under U.S. securities law. For now, Binance has not given a timetable for enabling DJTB borrowing or expanding access beyond current VIP and jurisdictional limits.
