Key Takeaways

  • Sigma Capital led Beldex's $8 million funding round, with NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures participating.
  • Beldex plans to use the funding for developer tools including an Extension Wallet, SDKs, account-based addresses, confidential assets, VRF consensus, and an EVM-compatible sidechain testnet.
  • A central focus of the round is privacy infrastructure for AI agents, covering agent identities via BNS, encrypted communication through BChat, confidential payments, secure AI execution, and Fully Homomorphic Encryption research.
  • The investment will also support interoperability and security work, including a TSS- and DKG-based cross-chain architecture and research into quantum-safe technologies.
  • The round arrives in a polarized privacy landscape, following U.S. sanctions on Tornado Cash in 2022 and privacy coin delistings by exchanges in Japan and South Korea.
Beldex Raises $8 Million to Expand Privacy Infrastructure for Web3 and AI

Seychelles, August 20th, 2026 (Chainwire) — Beldex, a privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem, has raised $8 million in a new funding round to accelerate the development of its privacy infrastructure for Web3 and AI.

The round was led by Sigma Capital, with participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures.

The funding arrives as Beldex expands beyond its established privacy ecosystem toward infrastructure that developers can use to build private and confidential applications. The company plans to invest across developer tooling, confidential applications, protocol security, AI infrastructure, and ecosystem adoption. The round also lands in a polarized privacy landscape: U.S. authorities sanctioned the Tornado Cash mixing service in 2022, and exchanges in Japan and South Korea delisted privacy coins in 2018 and 2021, even as demand for confidential computation rises alongside AI adoption.

“Privacy is becoming an infrastructure requirement, not a feature that can be added at the end,” said Afanddy Bin Hushni, Chairman of Beldex. “This funding gives us the capacity to move faster across the layers where sensitive information is created and exchanged, including transactions, communication, network activity, identity, and increasingly AI. Our focus is to turn that stack into practical infrastructure that developers, applications, and users can adopt without compromising usability.”

Building on a Live Privacy Ecosystem

Beldex has built a suite of privacy-focused products around its Layer 1 network. The ecosystem includes the Beldex Wallet for private transactions, BChat for encrypted messaging, BelNet for decentralized private networking, the Beldex Browser for private browsing, and the Beldex Name Service (BNS) for human-readable names across wallets, messaging, and private web applications.

The next phase is focused on making these privacy capabilities easier for developers to use. Part of the new funding will support the development of the Beldex Extension Wallet, SDKs, account-based addresses, and other developer tools designed to simplify how applications interact with the Beldex ecosystem.

Beldex is also working on confidential assets and an EVM-compatible sidechain, with the aim of giving developers familiar with Ethereum tooling an environment for building applications with privacy capabilities. EVM compatibility targets the large existing pool of Solidity developers, since it lets familiar codebases, wallets, explorers, and deployment tooling carry over with minimal rework.

“What stood out to me about Beldex is its long-term conviction,” said Vineet Budki, Managing Director & CEO at Sigma Capital. “While privacy was often treated as a niche, Beldex spent years building it into the infrastructure itself. AI agents and Web3 applications demand greater privacy today, and we believe Beldex is exceptionally well positioned for the next era of Web3. That conviction is why we chose to lead this round.”

Building Privacy Infrastructure for AI

A key focus of the new funding will be privacy infrastructure for AI. As autonomous agents increasingly handle payments, credentials, communications, and personal data, Beldex is exploring how its privacy stack can protect these interactions.

Key areas include privacy-preserving agent identities through BNS, encrypted AI-powered communication via BChat, confidential payments, secure AI execution, and research into Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and secure memory to protect sensitive data during processing. FHE allows computation on data while it remains encrypted; across the industry it remains computationally expensive and is still maturing, which is why it generally sits on research roadmaps rather than in shipping products.

Expanding Interoperability and Security

The funding will also support Beldex’s work on interoperability and network security. The Beldex network supports cross-chain connectivity with Binance Smart Chain and plans to expand interoperability with other blockchain ecosystems.

Cross-chain infrastructure has been among the industry’s costliest attack surfaces — the Ronin and Wormhole exploits in 2022 each led to losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars, and in Ronin’s case attackers gained control of enough validator keys to authorize forged withdrawals.

Beldex is also researching a TSS- and DKG-based cross-chain architecture designed to distribute signing authority across multiple participants, while continuing research into quantum-safe technologies for transactions and messaging as part of its longer-term security roadmap. That planning tracks a wider industry shift: the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024, starting multi-year migration efforts across blockchains and traditional finance.

Looking Ahead

Beldex will use the new funding to move several initiatives from research and development toward usable infrastructure. Near-term priorities include the Beldex Extension Wallet, SDKs, VRF consensus, account-based addresses, confidential assets, and an EVM-compatible sidechain testnet.

Alongside these initiatives, the team will continue research and development across AI privacy infrastructure, FHE, private smart contracts, interoperability, and quantum-safe technologies. The broader goal is to make privacy easier to build across transactions, communication, identity, applications, and AI. Among the near-term list, the sidechain testnet and Extension Wallet are the most concrete checkpoints for how quickly that research catalog turns into usable infrastructure.
