Aligned Launches $ALIGN, Native Token of Its Full Ethereum Stack

Montevideo, Uruguay, August 20, 2026, Chainwire

Aligned, a full-stack Ethereum infrastructure project, has launched $ALIGN, the native token of its ecosystem, with listings on major exchanges. The project says it is working to turn Ethereum into the world’s financial backend, offering fintechs, institutions, and enterprises a single integration for building financial products on Ethereum.

Less than 1% of the world’s assets are onchain, and most of the assets that have moved are on Ethereum in the form of stablecoins, tokenized treasuries, and wrapped assets. Aligned says building on top of those assets remains more difficult than it should be. According to the company, fintechs that want to move onchain often need to work with multiple vendors, including one for wallets and another for scalability solutions such as rollups and proving systems, then spend months connecting and maintaining those systems. Aligned says there is not yet a standard way to launch a financial product on Ethereum, which is the gap it wants to address with a more integrated stack.

Aligned says it was built to address that problem. The project is being developed in close collaboration with LambdaClass, which has made contributions across the Ethereum ecosystem, including work on Starknet, zkSync, Polygon Miden, and EigenCloud, formerly EigenLayer. The collaboration also includes Ethrex, the execution client that powers Aligned’s Rollup-as-a-Service, and lambdaworks, a Rust-based cryptography library. By integrating with Aligned, users can access wallets, rollups, interoperability, and zero-knowledge services through a single stack.

The company is rolling out its stack in stages:

  • Proof Aggregation Service: live on mainnet alpha. It batches the proofs generated by a rollup so verification remains inexpensive as Ethereum scales.
  • Wallet-as-a-Service: MVP already launched. Users can sign in with Google or Face ID and receive a real Ethereum wallet, without seed phrases, browser extensions, or gas fees.
  • Rollup-as-a-Service, the LambdaVM, and the interoperability protocol: in development. Aligned says the LambdaVM is its RISC-V zkVM, built with LambdaClass and 3MI Labs. Each component will be released when ready.

Aligned says the world’s assets are moving onto Ethereum, and it is building the stack intended to make development on Ethereum easier. In the future, $ALIGN will be available as an option to pay for services across that stack, from Proof Aggregation to Wallet-as-a-Service. As more teams build on Aligned, the token will be used to pay for that usage. The company describes $ALIGN as a utility token and says it is not equity, a share, or a claim on revenue or dividends, and does not promise a yield or a price.

$ALIGN has a fixed supply of 10 billion tokens, with about 16% circulating at launch. The full allocation and Genesis airdrop are described in the ALIGN tokenomics. The airdrop was distributed in several waves to developers and researchers, members of the Discord and Galxe communities, notable contributors to Ethereum and ZK such as Protocol Guild, L2BEAT, ZachXBT, and ZK Podcast, and holders of ecosystem tokens including Starknet, Mina, zkSync, Polygon, Scroll, Taiko, and EigenCloud.

Aligned says it is focused on Ethereum by choice. Through the rest of the year, the team plans to ship the remaining parts of the stack and increase the number of products built on it, as projects across the ecosystem continue to look for simpler ways to combine wallets, scaling, and interoperability in one deployment path. Its longer-term goal is to make building a financial product on Ethereum a single decision rather than a systems-integration project.

About Aligned

Aligned builds the tools intended to turn Ethereum into the world’s financial backend. It provides fintechs, institutions, and enterprises with one integration for wallets, rollups, interoperability, and zero-knowledge services so they can build financial products on Ethereum without assembling a stack from separate vendors. More information is available at alignedlayer.com.

$ALIGN is the native asset of the Aligned ecosystem, built on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token and also available on Base, with a fixed total supply of 10 billion and an initial circulating supply of approximately 16% of the total token supply. It will be used across the Aligned stack. $ALIGN is not equity, a share, or a claim on revenue or dividends. This announcement is informational only and is not financial advice.
