Tether Backs AIsa as Strategic Investor to Complete Seed Extension Round

Enterprise agentic AI infrastructure startup AIsa has completed its seed extension round, with Tether Capital and HIVEN joining as strategic investors, the company announced in a press release.

The round brings total funding raised by the San Francisco-based startup to more than $9 million. The two new investors joined a roster of existing backers that includes Alibaba, Tribe Capital, Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates, Saison Capital and others.

“Enterprise AI agents need trusted information, useful tools and a governed way to transact,” said Jordan Liu, founder and CEO of AIsa, in a Friday statement. “Our vision is to build the infrastructure that enables agents to discover, access and pay for resources globally, while giving enterprises full control over permissions, spending and transactions.”

According to the statement, AIsa aims to address the challenge posed by fragmented providers, integrations and billing systems, which make it difficult for enterprise AI agents to operate effectively in production and be managed at scale. The company's infrastructure connects enterprise agents to external data, AI search, models, APIs, software tools and industry services, combining governed access with usage metering, billing and settlement.

Tether Capital is the independent investment arm of USDT stablecoin issuer Tether, deploying capital from the company's profits and excess reserves. In June 2024, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the venture group expected to invest at least $1 billion into deals.

Tether said Thursday that the AIsa investment fits a broader pattern, following its backing of NEURA Robotics, which included plans to integrate Tether's Wallet Development Kit so machines can run AI locally and transact within predefined limits. The stablecoin issuer also outlined the investment in an official blog post.
