Bitcoin has shown resilience in recent trading, with the flagship cryptocurrency changing hands at approximately $78,196, a marginal increase over the past 24 hours. The asset recorded an intraday low of $77,320 and a high of $79,340, according to market data.
The broader digital asset market currently has a total capitalization of $2.63 trillion, reflecting a slight contraction of 0.20%. Trading activity, however, has accelerated markedly, with 24-hour volume surging more than 80% to $73.47 billion, a reminder that even in a relatively tight range, participation has been strong enough to keep key support and resistance levels in focus.
Market participants are closely watching key technical levels as Bitcoin approaches significant resistance zones. Analysts say the cryptocurrency has not yet sustainably broken above the $81,000 threshold, and expectations are building for a brief retracement before a possible move toward the $86,000 area. Seasoned traders have said such a pullback would present strategic entry opportunities rather than a reason for concern.
Jack Yi, founder of Liquid Capital, said a retracement toward the $75,500 level would be a favorable point for renewed exposure, while maintaining an optimistic outlook for the next upward leg.
Yi, who entered the Bitcoin mining sector during the 2015 downturn and later captured gains from the 2017 bull cycle, has emphasized the discipline required in trading.
He has said his early successes were largely the result of favorable market conditions rather than his own skill, a realization that led him to study trading mechanics more closely after mixed results across numerous portfolio investments. His comments also reflect a broader market approach that can matter in fast-moving crypto conditions: traders often stay patient through resistance tests and wait for clearer reversal signals before changing directional exposure. Despite expected bearish signals at resistance levels, the prevailing bull market thesis has led strategists to avoid short positions and maintain long exposure until definitive reversal patterns emerge.

On-Chain Metrics Flash First Bullish Signal in Ten Months
The recent price stabilization coincides with notable changes in blockchain-derived analytics.
Ki Young Ju, chief executive of CryptoQuant, said Bitcoin’s 2026 bear market has ended following the first positive reading on the firm’s Bull/Bear Market Cycle Indicator since early October 2025. The metric, which combines several on-chain profitability measures including the Market Value to Realized Value ratio, Net Unrealized Profit/Loss, and Spent Output Profit Ratio, registered a value of 0.042 in late August, moving into positive territory for the first time in ten months.
That reading contrasts sharply with the extreme bearish conditions seen on February 5, when the indicator bottomed at -1.244 as Bitcoin traded near $60,000. A move from sustained negative readings to positive values has historically aligned with broader bull market recoveries, echoing similar patterns seen in early 2023.
Still, some market observers caution that current liquidity conditions may not be sufficient to support a sustained macro trend reversal. They say volume confirmation and capital inflows will remain critical in validating the emerging bullish thesis, especially as Bitcoin continues to test whether recent stabilization can extend beyond short-term trading ranges.
