Coinbase korzysta z Chainlink Data Feeds, aby zasilać tokenizowane akcje w Base

Crypto exchange Coinbase has selected Chainlink as its official oracle infrastructure provider for its tokenized stocks, with Chainlink set to supply the pricing data that powers the new products on the Base network, Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 blockchain. Chainlink announced the development in a press release issued after the launch.

According to Chainlink, Base users will have 24/7 access to pricing data for the recently launched tokenized stocks, with the data delivered through Chainlink Data Feeds. Because blockchains cannot pull in outside market data on their own, they depend on oracles to publish it on-chain, which makes the choice of price infrastructure consequential for DeFi: lending protocols, for example, rely on continuous, accurate feeds to value collateral and trigger liquidations. The integration enables builders on Base to incorporate the tokenized equities into DeFi markets on the network, extending regulated tokenized US stocks to international users with DeFi use cases.

Coinbase Launches Tokenized Stocks With 24/7 Trading on Base

Coinbase has rolled out tokenized stocks for international users in partnership with registered broker Alpaca. With the move, the US firm joins a growing list of crypto exchanges, including Kraken and Binance, that have also launched tokenized stocks.

The rollout reflects the broader appetite for tokenization among both traditional and crypto firms. Several firms, including major traditional finance institutions, are already testing tokenized securities even as regulations concerning them remain vague.

The around-the-clock schedule marks a departure from conventional US equity markets, which trade only during set weekday hours — one reason continuous on-chain pricing data is central to the product's design. Coinbase has already issued tokenized versions of major equities such as Apple (AAPLc), Nvidia (NVDAc), Meta (METAc), and Alphabet (GOOGLc), and it has disclosed plans to roll out additional on-chain equities, which would broaden the set of assets relying on Chainlink Data Feeds on Base.

According to Coinbase, its tokenized stocks are built natively on the Base network using the B20 standard, and the tokens represent direct claims to the underlying equities. They are issued under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Global Market's (ADGM) regulatory authority, the regulator of the financial free zone in the UAE.

The company's announcement also made the case for launching equities on-chain, noting that tokenized stocks on Base are built for DeFi. Compared with traditional stocks, they are liquid and programmable, the firm said: "Use your tokenized NVIDIA stock as collateral for an on-chain loan on Aave, supply Apple to a decentralized exchange to earn yield, or build automated trading strategies."

LINK Gains as Chainlink Adoption Increases

The news that Coinbase is tapping Chainlink for its data feeds represents another positive development for the oracle provider, which has enjoyed increased adoption across several of its tools this year.

That growth has been driven by several factors, including the KelpDAO hack, which triggered an exodus from LayerZero to Chainlink's CCIP. Chainlink also remains the premier on-chain data provider, and the growing on-chain ecosystem — fueled by payments, stablecoins, tokenization, and AI — has further boosted its use.

Those positive developments have translated into price momentum for LINK, the network's native token. The token is up 22% over the past seven days and has gained almost 40% over the past month. LINK is still trading 5% below its value at the start of the year, but it now ranks among the best-performing major-cap tokens of 2026, changing hands at $11.55.
