Fanatics、予測市場事業拡大へ規制対象取引所を買収

スポーツ、金融、暗号資産の各分野でイベント連動型取引が広がるなか、Fanaticsは自社の予測市場インフラを管理できるようになる。

Fanaticsは、BGCの連邦規制対象の取引所と清算機関を取得し、自社の予測市場の上場と清算を行う。

この取引により、FanaticsはKalshi、Polymarket、その他の新興プラットフォームと並ぶ、急成長する予測市場分野で競争する立場を得る。

FanaticsとBGCはまた、予測市場の取引活動と従来の金融市場データを組み合わせた新たな市場データ商品を開発する計画だ。

米スポーツ企業Fanaticsは、選挙、インフレ、スポーツなどの結果に賭けるトレーダーが増えるなか、過去1年で人気が急伸した金融分野である予測市場へ大きく踏み込んでいる。

同社は月曜日、BGC GroupからWater Street LabsとCX Clearinghouseを取得することで合意したと発表した。これにより、Fanaticsは連邦規制対象の取引所と清算機関を保有し、自社の予測市場契約を上場・清算できるようになる。取引条件は公表されなかった。

この買収により、Fanaticsは契約の上場と清算を自ら行えるようになり、提供する商品や新しい市場を立ち上げる速度に対する管理を強められる。FanaticsとBGCは、予測市場の取引活動と従来の金融市場データを組み合わせた新たな市場データ商品を開発する予定だという。

予測市場は、CFTC規制下の取引所Kalshiや、ブロックチェーン上で運営される大手Polymarketに牽引され、金融分野で最も成長の速い領域の一つとなっている。

暗号資産ネイティブ企業も、この分野を主流へ押し上げる要因となってきた。Coinbase（COIN）はKalshiと提携し、50州のユーザーに予測市場を提供したほか、Robinhood（HOOD）も同じ取引所を通じてイベント契約の提供を始めている。

こうした状況を踏まえ、Fanaticsは自社の大規模なスポーツ顧客基盤が予測市場をさらに広い消費者層へ広げる助けになると見込んでいる。同社のMarketsプラットフォームは2024年後半に立ち上がり、23州と米領4地域で利用可能だ。

スポーツベッティング事業者も同様に予測市場への拡大を進めており、DraftKingsは昨年末、自社プラットフォームを立ち上げると発表した。
