Securitize agrega registro de asesor de inversiones ante la SEC mientras se expande el impulso de la tokenización

Securitize’s subsidiary, Securitize Capital, has registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser, broadening the tokenization firm’s regulated business as institutional demand for onchain investment products grows.

The new registration gives Securitize another regulated capability alongside its existing broker-dealer, alternative trading system (ATS), transfer agent and fund administration businesses. The company said the move strengthens its ability to work with asset managers and institutional investors exploring onchain investment strategies, including tokenized vaults and other blockchain-based products.

Securitize already works with major asset managers including BlackRock, Apollo, KKR and VanEck. The company issues BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized money market fund and recently listed publicly on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ.

The filing comes as U.S. regulators continue to examine how existing securities laws apply to blockchain-based investment products. Last week, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said that certain crypto vaults and lending strategies could fall under investment adviser regulations depending on how they are structured and managed.

Vaults have become one of decentralized finance’s fastest-growing products. They allow users to deposit crypto into smart contracts that automatically allocate capital across lending markets and other yield-generating strategies. Those products are increasingly being adopted outside DeFi by platforms including Coinbase and Robinhood, which use them to offer yield on customer balances. Curated vaults now hold about $8.6 billion in assets, according to Vaults.fyi data.

Securitize said the investment adviser registration provides a broader foundation for serving asset managers and institutional investors that are bringing traditional assets onto blockchain rails, where regulated roles such as advisory, trading and transfer services can sit alongside token issuance and fund administration.

The company has already built infrastructure around tokenized vaults, including permissioned lending vaults with Euler. Those vaults allow tokenized assets such as VanEck’s VBILL fund to be used as collateral while maintaining investor eligibility requirements.

Securitize has become one of the largest tokenization infrastructure providers, with partnerships spanning BlackRock, Apollo, KKR and VanEck. It also works with the New York Stock Exchange on the infrastructure behind tokenized securities trading.

The company completed its public listing earlier this month under the ticker SECZ. Its share price is down nearly 40% through July.
