Singapore-based marine fuel trading firm Uni-Fuels has appointed Robert Love as general manager in the United States, based in Houston, as it seeks to expand its footprint in the American market. Houston is one of the busiest ports in the United States and a central hub for Gulf Coast bunkering activity, making it a strategic base for companies looking to capture marine fuel demand along the US refining and shipping corridor.

Love announced the move in a LinkedIn profile update on Thursday, stating that he had taken on the General Manager role this month.

"I'm pleased to share that I have accepted a General Manager role with Singapore-based Uni-Fuels, where I will help expand the company's presence in the United States," he said.

Love brings more than 15 years of experience in marine fuel procurement, supply, and logistics to the position. He previously served as senior managing partner at UET Marine, and held the same title at Gulf Coast Fuel Supply, among other companies.

Earlier in his career, Love spent nearly 11 years as global fuel manager at American Eagle Tankers, where he oversaw fuel procurement for a fleet exceeding 140 tankers and VLCCs. He has also served as vice president of marine logistics at Tradewinds Marine since December 2024.

The appointment comes as Uni-Fuels continues to grow its operations. The company reported a 58% year-on-year increase in marine fuels trading volumes in Q1 2026. For a Singapore-based firm — operating out of the world's largest bunkering port by volume — establishing direct on-the-ground representation in the US Gulf Coast aligns with a broader pattern of Asian marine fuel traders building local teams in key demand centers to strengthen supplier relationships and capture physical supply opportunities.
