Brazilian energy company Petrobras has resumed VLSFO bunker sales at Brazil’s Port of Itaqui after maintenance on the fuel’s supply pipelines was postponed, while MGO sales remain suspended as planned.
The VLSFO pipeline maintenance had been scheduled for August 18 to September 7, but Petrobras said in an emailed customer note on Tuesday that the work has been postponed and no new date has been announced. The company said VLSFO sales have resumed following the change in schedule.
Maintenance of the port’s MGO pipelines is still proceeding as previously planned. That work is running from July 29 to November 9, a period of about 103 days.
MGO sales will remain suspended throughout the maintenance period and will affect the supply and receipt of MGO at the berths at Itaqui.
Petrobras supplies bunker fuels at ports across Brazil by pipe and barge. At Itaqui, deliveries are ex-pipe only, according to the company’s website.
