Forrestania Resources Confirms British Hill Mineralisation Extension with Latest Drilling Results

Author: The Market Online Australia·

Key Takeaways

  • Recent drilling at British Hill confirmed gold mineralisation extends both up-dip to the east and at depth.
  • Highlighted assay results included 4.0 m at 1.50 g/t gold from surface, 9.0 m at 1.60 g/t gold from 55 m, and 1.0 m at 3.39 g/t gold from 179 m.
  • British Hill is located on a granted Mining Lease and ore is already being trucked to Forrestania’s Lake Johnston processing hub.
  • The project currently contains a JORC-compliant resource of approximately 54,625 ounces of gold above a 0.5 g/t cut-off grade.
  • Forrestania is awaiting approval for a further Programme of Work and expects to release an updated mineral resource estimate in the coming weeks.

Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) has received a positive batch of assay results from its recent drilling program at the historical British Hill gold project in Western Australia, confirming that mineralisation extends up-dip to the east and at depth.

British Hill is situated on granted Mining Lease M77/1256, located approximately 75 km south-southeast of Southern Cross in the Yilgarn mineral field. The tenement lies near the Parker Dome, which sits centrally within the Southern Cross–Forrestania Greenstone Belt — an Archaean-aged greenstone rock package with metamorphic grades ranging between upper greenschist and amphibolite facies.

The location on a granted Mining Lease is relevant because it places British Hill within an established permitting framework, while the project's proximity to Forrestania's Lake Johnston processing hub supports the company's stated hub-and-spoke development approach.

Chairman David Geraghty said the drilling provided the company with a stronger understanding of the deposit's geology while successfully testing mineralisation both at depth and along strike.

"These latest results continue to reinforce our confidence in the British Hill deposit, with drilling successfully extending mineralisation both up-dip and at depth while returning multiple high-grade gold intercepts," Mr Geraghty said.

"A further POW [Programme of Work] is awaiting approval, with the intent once granted to immediately commence further drilling. Importantly, British Hill is already located on a granted Mining Lease with ore already being trucked to our Lake Johnston processing hub."

"As we continue to expand the mineral resource estimate over the coming weeks, we see increasing potential for British Hill to become another valuable source of ore within our regional development strategy," he added.

Highlight intercepts from the recent drilling program include:

  • 4.0 m at 1.50 g/t gold from surface
  • 9.0 m at 1.60 g/t gold from 55 m
  • 1.0 m at 3.39 g/t gold from 179 m

Gold mineralisation at British Hill is associated with high-grade quartz veins developed in response to a syn-mineralisation strain regime. Gold is generally hosted within sheared and quartz-veined host rock.

British Hill currently holds a JORC-compliant resource of approximately 54,625 ounces of gold above a 0.5 g/t lower cut-off grade. The drilling program was aimed at expanding this Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), with an updated MRE expected in the coming weeks. The next resource update will be the key technical marker for how the new drilling data is incorporated into the deposit model.

Forrestania Resources has built a substantial portfolio of gold assets across Western Australia's premier mineral provinces, including the Southern Cross, Eastern Goldfields, and Forrestania regions. These assets underpin the company's strategy to develop two complementary processing hubs at Edna May and Lake Johnston, creating a scalable platform for production and regional consolidation.

FRS shares were steady at 40.0 cents, with a market capitalisation of $518.7 million.
