The first assays from a 22-hole drilling programme have extended mineralisation closer to surface, reinforcing the company's geological model of multiple high-grade mineralised shoots at the prospect.
The standout intercept came from hole BTPRC010, which returned 14 metres at 76.6g/t silver, 3.43% lead, 2.32% zinc, and 3.7g/t indium from a depth of 76 metres. This included a higher-grade interval of three metres at 249.6g/t silver, 12.19% lead, 6.05% zinc, and 8.3g/t indium. Individual samples from the programme also returned grades of up to 434.4g/t silver and 27.09% lead. Indium, a critical mineral used in semiconductors, flat-panel displays, and thin-film solar cells, is relatively uncommon as a primary target in Australian exploration, and its presence at economically notable grades adds a distinct dimension to the polymetallic system at Torpy's.
The two holes assayed to date targeted up-dip extensions of mineralisation and intersected broad zones of massive to semi-massive sulphides dominated by galena and sphalerite, confirming continuity of the mineralised system. The relatively shallow depths of the intercepts — starting from 76 metres — are relevant because shallow mineralisation can materially affect potential future mining economics by reducing overburden removal requirements compared to deeper systems.
