Antipa Minerals Identifies Telfer-Style Reef Target at Minyari Project as Phase One Drilling Yields Strong Assays

Author: The Market Online Australia·

Key Takeaways

  • •Antipa Minerals completed 70 drill holes totaling 7,781 metres across the Tim's Dome, GEO-01, Minyari Dome, and AL01 target areas as part of phase one CY2026 drilling.
  • •RC drilling at Tim's Dome intersected gold-copper-lead-silver mineralisation over approximately 500 metres of strike, situated above a large untested airborne electromagnetic conductor measuring roughly 1.2 kilometres in length.
  • •The company believes the Tim's Dome results may represent the upper expression of a larger Telfer-style reef system, referencing Newmont's Telfer operation approximately 100 kilometres south in the same Paterson Province.
  • •A new discovery at AL01 defined a coherent two-kilometre-long gold-copper aircore anomaly that the company confirmed warrants follow-up RC drilling.
  • •Diamond tail drilling to test the AEM conductor is scheduled to commence by mid-August, with three drill rigs currently active at WACA, Tim's Dome, and Chicken Ranch.

Antipa Minerals (ASX:AZY) has reported further significant potential at its Minyari gold-copper project in Western Australia's Paterson Province, following a successful second batch of assay results from phase one CY2026 drilling.

The results derive from 70 drill holes totaling 7,781 metres, completed across the Tim's Dome, GEO-01, Minyari Dome, and AL01 target areas.

At Tim's Dome, reverse circulation (RC) drilling intersected broad gold-copper-lead-silver mineralisation over approximately 500 metres of strike, situated directly above a large, untested airborne electromagnetic (AEM) conductor. The conductor extends for roughly 1.2 kilometres, ranges between 200 metres and 470 metres in width, and lies approximately 50 to 100 metres beneath the current drilling limits. AEM conductors of this scale can indicate extensive sulphide-bearing mineral systems, which is central to the company's target interpretation.

Managing Director Roger Mason said the latest results also successfully extended mineralised lodes at GEO-01 South, returned a strong geotechnical drilling intersection at WACA, and defined a coherent two-kilometre-long gold-copper aircore anomaly at AL01.

"Phase one drilling has considerably strengthened our internal view of the Tim's Dome target, with an interesting mineralisation profile that includes high-grade gold and copper with overlapping zones of lead mineralisation returned to the end of some holes," Mr Mason said.

"Mineralisation has now been identified over approximately 500 metres of strike, directly above a large AEM conductor that the RC rig could not reach in this round of testing."

"The geological setting, metal association and scale of the underlying conductor support our interpretation that the drilling may be defining the upper expression of a larger Telfer-style reef system."

The Telfer comparison refers to Newmont's Telfer operation, located approximately 100 kilometres south of Minyari in the same Paterson Province, which has been one of Australia's largest gold-copper producers since the 1970s and remains in operation today.

"We're keen to test this conductor as soon as possible, with diamond tail drilling scheduled to commence by mid-August. So, with drilling also continuing at WACA and Chicken Ranch, there is activity at several high-priority discovery and growth opportunities across the broader Minyari project."

Three drill rigs remain active at WACA, Tim's Dome, and Chicken Ranch.

The new discovery at AL01 returned notable intersections including 26 metres at 0.08 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 183 parts per million (ppm) copper from 12 metres, and 39 metres at 0.05 g/t gold and 185 ppm copper from 4.0 metres in a separate hole.

Mr Mason told shareholders that the AL01 results confirm follow-up RC drilling is warranted, with the programme design to be finalised following receipt and interpretation of outstanding aircore results.

Prior to market open, AZY shares were steady at 2.2 cents with a market capitalisation of $361.3 million.
