Harvest Midstream teilte mit, dass das Unternehmen nun anstrebt, ab Anfang 2029 LNG am seit langem stillgelegten Terminal Kenai in Alaska zu importieren und damit das frühere Ziel 2028 nach hinten verschiebt.

Das Unternehmen rüstet die Kenai-LNG-Anlage um, um den Bedarf im Alaska Railbelt zu decken, einem zentralen Strom- und Gasmarkt im Bundesstaat, der seit langem auf Infrastruktur in einem anspruchsvollen Betriebsumfeld angewiesen ist.

Die Zeitverschiebung verlängert das Projekt um ein weiteres Jahr. Ziel ist es, die LNG-Flüsse an einem Terminal wiederherzustellen, das seit Jahren stillsteht, und sie unterstreicht die langen Vorlaufzeiten, die mit der Wiederinbetriebnahme ausgedienter Energieinfrastruktur verbunden sind.
