ACG Metals (LSE: ACG) produced the first copper concentrate from its Gediktepe mine in Turkey, marking its transition from precious metals as it targets full sulphide production by the end of 2026. The copper concentrate was produced safely and on schedule, the company said, as it advances a project that is designed to move Gediktepe into a different production mix and add a base-metals product stream alongside the mine's existing operations.

The milestone matters because first concentrate production is a key step in ramping up a processing circuit and demonstrates that the mine is moving from construction and commissioning toward commercial output. For ACG Metals, the shift also places Gediktepe more squarely in the sulphide development phase, where plant performance, recovery rates and steady operations typically become the main focus before full production targets can be reached.

Turkey remains an established mining jurisdiction with a mix of precious and base-metals activity, so progress at Gediktepe will likely be watched for signs of how quickly the operation can continue its transition through the remainder of commissioning and toward the company’s end-2026 objective.
