Shares of Hindustan Unilever fell more than 6% after the company reported first-quarter earnings that missed expectations, even as revenue from operations rose 10% year-on-year to Rs 17,000 crore.
The company’s net profit declined 3% to Rs 2,673 crore, affected by one-time tax credits recorded earlier. Despite the profit drop, HUL said its Home Care and Beauty & Wellbeing businesses delivered strong sales performance.
The earnings update weighed on the stock, which came under pressure in trade after the quarterly results were announced, underscoring how closely investors are watching volume growth and margin trends at one of India’s largest consumer goods companies.
HUL also indicated that it expects fiscal 2027 to be better than fiscal 2026.
