尽管 Ken Griffin 与纽约市长 Zohran Mamdani 之间存在争执，纽约市一座将容纳 Griffin 旗下 Citadel 的摩天大楼开发仍在推进。

位于 350 Park Avenue 的该项目由 Griffin 的 Citadel 与 Vornado Realty Trust 和 Rudin 联合开发，Griffin 旗下两家公司将作为锚定租户入驻。随着现场拆除工作已经展开，这一项目仍是中城最受关注的商业开发之一。像这样的新大型写字楼往往需要漫长的规划周期、巨额资本投入以及租户预租约，才能推进施工。

Vornado Realty Trust 首席执行官 Steven Roth 在周二公司的财报电话会议上表示，项目已经启动，而该房地产投资信托基金计划将其在该合资项目中的持股比例最大化。

"If you drive or walk past Park Avenue at 52nd Street, you will see that our 350 Park Avenue site is now under construction, actually under demolition. We intend to shortly exercise our investment option to participate in this deal at our maximum ownership alongside Ken Griffin as our 60% partner and with Citadel as our 1-million-square-foot anchor tenant."

Roth 表示，Citadel 在该合资企业中持有 60% 的股份，而 Vornado 的持股将最高达到 36%。

在 Mamdani 于一段介绍其新 pied-à-terre 税的视频中，明确批评 Griffin 拥有 Central Park South 的顶层公寓后，该项目仍继续推进。该税针对高价值住宅物业征收，适用于业主并非全年居住在纽约市的房产。

Mamdani 于 4 月 15 日在 Griffin 顶层公寓前拍摄的视频引发争议，他在视频中点名这位对冲基金亿万富翁，称其将受到新的豪宅税影响。

"When I ran for mayor, I said I was going to tax the rich. Well, today we're taxing the rich… This is an annual fee on luxury properties worth more than $5 million whose owners do not live full-time in the city – like this penthouse, which hedge fund CEO Ken Griffin bought for $238 million," Mamdani said in the video.

Griffin 回应称，这一针对个人的攻击“creepy and weird”，并表示这使自己处于危险之中，也体现出 Mamdani “profound lack of judgment”。

Citadel 高管随后暗示，这处新的办公空间可能会成为 Mamdani 商业政策的牺牲品。

该公司首席运营官 Gerald Beeson 在 4 月 23 日致员工的一份备忘录中写道，350 Park Avenue 的开发即将开始，预计将创造 “6,000 highly paid construction jobs”，并支持在 Midtown New York “creation of more than 15,000 permanent jobs”。

"The project – if we move forward – will entail more than $6 billion dollars of spending," Beeson wrote.

Mamdani 最终缓和了措辞，并感谢 Griffin 对这座城市的贡献，其中包括为在 September 11 attacks 中遇难的警员以及在袭击后的救援恢复过程中因相关疾病去世的人士资助一面纪念墙。该纪念墙预计将于今年晚些时候在 NYC Police Headquarters 开放。
